National Debate Results

EMC students are excelling!!  We are proud to announce that two students from the Brickfields Road Campus Asanda Mcence, Report 191 and Pamela Ngamlashe, DSPP took part in a National TVET Debate Competition hosted by DHET at the East London ICC on the 29th and 30th of August.

The students were paired with students from King Hintsa and PE College arguing in the negative the topic:

Are Student Representative Councils effectively representing the interests of the student population?

We are happy to announce that the team won THIRD place in the NATIONAL competition, with first place going to a team from Limpopo, and second to a team from the North West.

There was no trophy for third place (unfortunately), only for first place and one for the best debator male and best debator female.

But trophies aside, the team did exceptionally well under extreme nerves and pressure. Our gratitude is also extended to Monwabisi Wopa, Student Liaison Officer of the Thanduxolo Campus who assisted and accompanied the students.

We are indeed proud of our students!
